Together

Will and I received our first engagement gift (if you don't include the gift from my class and Aunt Donna's finds).  My neighbor, Linda, gave us one of the beautiful Willow Tree statues.  It is beautiful! I love the meaning behind the statue :)

I love Sugar!!

So everyone knows I really don't want to blow my budget on a cake, because a cake is not my priority but I found this cute cake...

This one is more simple and classy though.  Will knows I love sugar so wedding cake tasting will be fun when the time comes :)

October 7, 2012

It's official!! Today my mom and I took my dad do go see the place since he couldn't go with us last weekend.  He loved it so it is official, we are getting married on October 7, 2012! It is the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend so hopefully people won't have work on that following Monday.  The good news is I won't have school that Monday! The place is BEAUTIFUL! It is in Maryland and has 360 degree views of the mountains.  We are going to have the ceremony outside and the reception inside.  Here are some pictures from today...

The paper work is SIGNED :)
 My beautiful parents!

After signing the paper work and making everything official we went off for a celebratory lunch a few minutes away from the venue.  We went to The Main Cup in Middletown, MD and had a wonderful lunch.  This place was so cute and has great food!

The Wedding Gifts Begin :)

I forgot to mention that right after the proposal my amazing mother had a "going away Will/ congratulation Will & Jackie" brunch with my family and some of my extended family on February 27th! Aunt Donna came over with a Outback take out bag full of discounted goodies.  Donna is the only person in the world who could pull this off gracefully/tastefully and she did an outstanding job!  Please admire some of her tacky yet fabulous gifts bellow...
A heart for Will to take my heart to New Mexico and my future wedding dress

Donna passing out the gifts like she was Santa :) Here is a cake topper...for the engagement party!

Joey was included in the gift giving it says "Thank God I'm Fabulous" this was PERFECT!!

Thank goodness for my fun family for always making others laugh!

Venue Shopping

So today Joey, mom, and I went on our wedding venue hunt and it was quite the adventure! I started out beautifully... we drove up to Myersville Maryland first.  Joey and mom were thinking I was crazing for wanting to go look at a place far away in Maryland but I fell in love with it online.  So on our way up 270 we see an old dodge truck with his window missing.  Instead of getting it fixed this man duck taped a piece of plastic to his door and then cut out a peep hole so he could see out of it when turning.  My mom and I were in tears laughing!! Anyway we got up to Maryland and I the location was beautiful!! I think its the place, I am keeping my fingers crossed we get the date I am hoping for! We shall see :) Here are a few pictures from this amazing place!

Now the true adventure began however when we arrived at the worlds worst winery wedding venue location!! I will not name any names but this place was AWFUL! It had one beautiful view but basically they wanted $20,000 to get married in a BARN! It really was a barn... it used to be a 30 stall barn that they converted into a "reception" area.  Not to mention that our ceremony would have been right next to some roaming chickens. You know it is bad when the lady showing you the location says "you and your fiancĂ©e will need to move over this way during the ceremony so you don't see the electrical pole in your pictures."  Anyway this place was NOT for Will and I! Not to mention that we are not trying to spend $20,000 just to get married and eat dinner in a barn with our friends and family!

Overall, it was a great day with my mom and brother and we sure did make some memories!

We are engaged!!!

I am starting the blog 2 weeks late but I have to start at the beginning so here goes...

On February 25th I decided to take the day off since Will would be leaving for training camp on the 27th.  Will had been acting silly all week so I was wondering if he was going to pop the question before he left but little did I know he was tricking me to think he would ask me at dinner that Friday evening.   That morning he asked me if we wanted to spend some time at my favorite winery during the day before we went to dinner and of course I said yes :) When we got to Delaplane Cellars we had a wine tasting and then we went upstairs to the loft to drink our bottle of wine.  When we got up there I found a table with candles, wine glasses, and cheese waiting for us.  I was starting to wonder what was going on.  After siting down Will poured my wine with shaky hands and then asked if we could go look at the puzzle on the other table.  We walked to the table and when I turned around he was down on his knee.  I started to cry so of course I had no idea what he said but I said YES! The rest is history :) He did a wonderful job planning everything and keeping is a secret.  It defiantly was a day to remember!
Two days later he left for New Mexico...so here I am left planning with my mom and brother :) Let the fun begin!
